“I just had a bilateral orchiectomy with Dr Epstein. If you want someone extraverted with great bedside manner, he is probably not your choice. However, he is cordial and very professional. He also does care, but has a weird way of showing it. He did call at 9.45 PM to make sure I was okay after surgery. I don’t know many doctors who still think about their patients that late.
“The surgery was done with local anaesthetic only with some mild sedatives to save costs. His nurses were very attentive though to every pain or discomfort I had. Anything I needed they provided. I swear I almost broke this one male nurse’s hand when some local anaesthetics were being injected, but all he did was smile and comfort me.
“Total cost for surgery was $1,400. They also listed on a sheet that was mailed to me that there is a $316 consult fee and $100 lab fee, but they have not billed me for those yet.
“Overall I would give him 4 3/4 stars out of 5.
“A note about PAMF: They are a non-profit hospital system in the Bay area. Their main priority is your health, not $$$. If you need any type of care I highly suggest you see if they offer the services you need first.”
