Gender Identity Clinics (GICs)
Gender Identity Clinics are NHS collectives specialising in gender dysphoria and related issues. In England they are the specialist NHS clinics that deal with transsexual patients from initial referrals through to surgery. However, they require a referral from a local psychiatrist in order to attend. In Scotland, your GP can refer you to a GIC without needing the local psychiatric evaluation first.
