A Virtual Girl is a person who presents as male in the real world but creates a female persona for their online activities. Similarly, people who present as female in the real world but create male personas on the Internet are known as Virtual Boys. It is a form of transgenderism akin to Internet cross dressing and while it is dominant in online roleplaying games (e.g. Multi-User Dungeons, EverQuest, World of Warcraft, etc) it occurs in other areas of the internet as well, from discussion forums to websites.
